Gohan is introduced as the first son of the protagonist Son Goku, and his wife Chi-Chi, in chapter #196 "Kakarrot", published in Weekly ShĹŤnen Jump magazine on October 8, 1988.
The Dragon Ball Super manga’s adaptation of 2022's Super Hero movie is well underway, and fans are chomping at the bit for certain scenes to be expanded. While the arc has been somewhat reserved in how much it chooses to elaborate upon, Chapter 92 ended with a special look at Goku and Broly’s sparring match on Beerus’s planet.
Goku was revealed a month before the Dragon Ball manga started, in postcards sent to members of the Akira Toriyama Preservation Society. Goku's first appearance was on the last page of "Grand Finale", the last chapter of the Dr. Slump manga, advertising Dragon Ball's upcoming debut. Goku's Saiyan birth name, Kakarot, is a pun on "carrot".
The combat does look similar to Dragon Ball, but the chances are high that Toriyama never read these comics. He has said multiple times that he didn’t have time back when he was creating Dragon Ball to read manga from his own peers, let alone Chinese language comics which were likely never exported to Japan prior to 1984.
Once you get to Revival of F just watch the movie then once you finish ToP you should Watch Dragon Ball Super Broly. I dont believe Manga was made for both those movies. Also be aware that the Manga and Anima have subtle changes. Nothing that differs the plot drastically but details here and there. Personally I think the Manga is the best way
There is no "rushing to catch up to the anime". I very much doubt that Toyotaro gets to choose how long his arcs are. The Dragon Ball Room consisting of editors from V-Jump/Shueisha are most likely aligning releases of DB products from every medium (games, movies, manga, anime, figures, etc.) as part of their master plan for the DB IP.
